Well, this is it!
It is the final preparations before venturing into the Remington server of WAKFU.
WAKFU is an MMORPG with turned-based combat but real-time in pretty much everything else. The game gives a lot of freedom to the players to shape the game world.
There is the political system, where leaders of the game's nations are selected to govern the lands. This is nothing new, though.
There is the economy system, where the players run everything. And I do mean everything. Players run the shops, they produce the goods, they harvest the natural resources to produce the goods. They even mint the currency. This is uncommon among MMORPGs and I am interested to see how it will begin. Especially since everyone starts with no money or goods.
And finally, there is the ecology system. This is new. This gives the players, even the lowly newbies, a chance to help their nation by contributing to the ecosystem. It is a simplified system, though, where count of each species of flora and fauna, and the conditions for ideal ecosystem are found with the push of a key. Then the players are tasked with keeping the count of each species within the ideal numbers.
In the real world, scientist have to survey the ecosystem themselves - there is no magic key that magically presents all the figures in a pretty little chart.
There is still stuff to do like read up on the gameplay and reading the gossips. Yes, there are gossips. People are already talking even before the server is open. Mainly because there is nothing to do but wait for the server to open.
Anyhow, I am committed to this for at least six months. We shall see how this blog turns out.
While waiting for the server to open, here the picture of a Tofu I nicked from somewhere:
